During the Fall of 2001, The Album Leaf opened for Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós during their US tour. During this tour, LaValle secured the use of Sigur Rós' Icelandic studio "Sundlaugin" for his third album, In a Safe Place, as well as the services of many of its band members. Some tracks from "In a Safe Place" have been used in the television series "the O.C." as well as other shows on CBS, NBC and Showtime.
LaVelle returned to Sigur Rós' studio to mix his latest album "Into the Blue Again", set to be released on SubPop on the 12th of september. LaVelle collaborated with Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv with programming and engineering on some tracks of the new album.
"Into the Blue Again" features more vocals than LaVelle's previous albums without straying too far from his signature sound. The album in whole is simply beautiful and fits perfectly for those coming autumn days.
